The effect of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication therapy on the extra-gastrointestinal factors in elderly patients was focused in this study. H. pylori eradication therapy prevented weight loss and subclinical iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) in elderly individuals. Gastric hyperplastic polyps were not associated with subclinical IDA. The results obtained in this study will help physician to treat elderly patients in community-based medicine. |
