Core Tip |
Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) constitute a heterogeneous group of tumors with variable clinical presentations, different growth rates and unpredictable prognoses. In our study, we aimed to identify the independent prognostic markers for the patients in the whole GEP-NET group. As a result, it was observed that one of the biochemical parameters, C-reactive protein (CRP) affected the course of the progression in the worst way (particularly if it is > 20 mg/dL). With the need for larger scale and prospective studies, it was suggested that CRP level might be a poor prognostic factor for the entire GEP-NET group. |
