Core Tip |
Nephropathy is a significant complication of diabetes. In this study, we have demonstrated that the coagonist of glucagon-like peptide-1 and glucagon receptors alleviates biochemical and histopathological features of nephropathy in HFSTZ and db/db mice. Coagonist reduces glucotoxicity and lipotoxicity in these animal models, which translates into benefit for prevention of nephropathy. The results provide further evidence that coagonist may be effective in the prevention of diabetic nephropathy. |
