Core Tip |
Several studies have been carried out to determine both the influence of alendronate in bone repair and the appropriate dose of this drug to promote bone regeneration. In this research, 36 Wistar rats were allocated into three distinct groups that received applications of either alendronate at different doses or saline solution three times a week for 45 d. The rats underwent femoral fracture surgery with stable internal fixation. The imaginologic results suggested that the use of alendronate did not have a direct influence on the amount of bone neoformation, however it did influence bone quality in a dose-dependent manner. |
