Core Tip Acute kidney injury early post liver trans­plantation is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. The etiology is multifactorial. The renal hypoperfusion and hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury are being incre­asingly recognized. Further studies need to focus on therapies that would attenuate this injury.
