Administration of hepatitis B virus (HBV) immunoglobulin and HBV vaccination as soon after pregnancy as possible are the mainstay of prevention of perinatal transmission of HBV infection. In women with high viral loads, antiviral prophylaxis with tenofovir also appears to be useful. |
