Surgical left atrial appendage occlusion (s-LAAO) is performed during cardiac surgeries in patients with atrial fibrillation. However, evidence to perform routinely during cardiac surgeries is conflicting and contrasting. It is currently given a class Ⅱb recommendation in the professional medical society guidelines. We sought to perform a meta-analysis of all the studies published to date to evaluate the safety and efficacy of s-LAAO. |
