Core Tip Our paper describes the key surgical points of gallbladder-preserving hepatectomy for treating S5 hepatoblastoma performed completely by Da Vinci robotic system. A gallbladder-preserving hepatectomy was carried out for a boy at our hospital, and then systematic literature review was done to discuss significance and feasibility of preserving gallbladder during hepatectomy, the surgical safety and advantages, comparing the safety and effectiveness of robot-assisted surgery and traditional laparoscopic surgery.
