Core Tip |
Chronic myeloid leukemia stem cells (LSCs) and acute myeloid leukemia LSCs are resistant to common therapies due to the activation of downstream signaling pathways which guarantee their survival. Also, they are smart enough to escape from immune surveillance. Bone marrow microenvironment (BMM) is behind of all these phenomena by providing an environment which favor leukemia development. Recent studies confirm that targeting LSCs and their crosstalk with the BMM significantly reduces residual disease burden and eventuated in LSCs removal. |
