Core Tip |
Multiplex Gene Assay in specimens obtained from patients with ileal localization of Crohn’s disease (CD) allowed the simultaneous analysis of messenger ribonucleic acid levels for 24 genes, known to be involved in the inflammation processes of CD pathogenesis. The result showed that the expression of genes related to Th1 and Th17 immune response is strongly activated as well as the expression of genes deputized to interact with the commensal microbiota, such as DEFB4 and HAMP, which code for antimicrobial peptides. |
