Core Tip |
Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is increasingly being utilized as an alternative to hemiarthroplasty for the treatment of displaced femoral neck fractures especially in younger ambulatory patients. In an analysis of the National Impatient Sample we found that the incidence of THA in the United States is increasing, particularly in urban areas. Furthermore, we found that THA was associated with increased hospital charges but shorter length of stay. |
