This article reports one case of Sagliker syndrome, a rare complication of secondary hyperparathyroidism, which is characterized by disfiguring facial deformity, resulting in a lion-like face. We reviewed the whole process of diagnosis and treatment in order to bring inspiration to other patients. Related articles are reviewed, and we make reasonable speculation of its risk factors. We also creatively put forward the hypothesis of its manifestation mechanisms and discuss its treatment modalities. |
