| Core Tip |
Thyroid metastases of extra-thyroid origin are an uncommon finding, particularly in cases of gastrointestinal, colon, and rectum malignancies. The diagnostic process, as well as survival of oncological patients is improving. Consequently the number of diagnosed metastases to the thyroid gland is increasing. However, the management and outcome of these patients remain unclear, making it necessary to conduct more clinical research to define diagnostic and therapeutic protocols to provide a suitable treatment and a positive impact on outcome. Our objective was to review the current literature in the context of a recently diagnosed case in our hospital. |
