Core Tip |
Treatment in patients with liver cirrhosis and lymphoma represents a challenge for physicians given the lack of scientific evidence. Experts recommend offering oncological treatment only to patients with compensated cirrhosis. In this study we included mainly decompensated patients with cirrhosis and lymphoma, and when compared to patients with lymphoma only we observed that clinical characteristics, response rate and complications derived from chemotherapy were similar in both groups. Chemotherapy was adjusted more in patients with liver dysfunction, however this did not alter the response to treatment or prognosis. We propose that lymphoma treatment can be provided in patients with cirrhosis at any clinical state. |
