This study is offering a comparative analysis between the performance of different scoring systems in large number of patients with acute variceal bleeding. The platelet-albumin-bilirubin score showed better performance in predicting short term outcome and the incidence of rebleeding in comparison to other 4 scoring systems as Child Pugh score, albumin-bilirubin score and Model of End Stage Liver Disease and its modification for acute variceal bleeding. |
