Tamarix chinensis Lour; Alcoholic liver disease; Ethanol-induced liver injury; NLRP3 inflammasome; Oxidative stress; Natural killer T cells |
Core Tip |
Administration of alcoholic extract of Tamarix chinensis Lour (TCL) inhibits the up-regulation of NOD-like receptor family, pyrin domain containing 3 inflammasome and its downstream proinflammatory cytokines (i.e., interleukin-1β, tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6) induced by chronic ethanol exposure. Alcoholic extract of TCL inhibits the recruitment of natural killer T cells in the liver induced by chronic ethanol exposure. Administration of alcoholic extract of TCL ameliorates the oxidative stress induced by chronic ethanol exposure. |
