Core Tip |
To obtain improved aesthetic and functional results in facial reconstruction using local flaps, facial relaxed skin tension lines and facial aesthetic unit principles should both be considered. In this article, we review the keystone perforator island flap, which is a simple and easy local flap technique, and investigate facial keystone perforator island flap reconstruction, taking into account both facial relaxed skin tension lines and facial aesthetic subunits, which can achieve promising results and ideal outcomes without difficulty in covering facial defects in both central and peripheral facial units. |
