Core Tip |
Acute ankle sprain is the most common injury in athletes. Several interventions have been recommended in management of acute ankle sprains, among them exercise and brace have been recommended with higher level of evidence and should be incorporated in the rehabilitation process. Exercise program should be comprehensive and progressive including range of motion, stretching, strengthening, neuromuscular, propriceptive and sport-specific exercises. Application of an evidence-based algorithmic approach considering the individual characteristics is helpful and should be recommended. |
