Simultaneous transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) and portal vein embolization (PVE) is a safe and effective approach to increase the future liver remnant volume more quickly in a short time and to achieve a better median overall survival and disease-free survival time compared with sequential TACE and PVE or PVE-only for patients with large hepatocellular carcinoma who need major hepatectomy. |
