Core Tip |
First-line therapy for Helicobacter pylori infection should have an efficacy higher than 90% to prevent the need for additional treatment and the emergence of secondary antimicrobial resistance. The first-line eradication regimen should be based on what works best in a defined geographical area and must take into account the prevalence of antimicrobial resistance in that region. Non-bismuth quadruple (i.e., concomitant) therapy appears to have high efficacy and, in our opinion, is the first choice of treatment for eradicating the infection. |
