The pandemic spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) determined the need to standardize a therapeutic approach in order to offer the same indications for all hospital admissions of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infected patients. However, no specific drug or drug regimen has been approved for infection treatment. This opinion review attempts to describe the recent literature on this topic and to summarize the strategies of treatment currently in use for COVID-19 related complications. |
