Primary gastric melanoma (PGM) is a rare malignant tumor, and there is a corresponding lack of clinical data reported in the literature. We describe, here, a case of PGM presenting as dysphagia and unintentional weight loss, and confirmed by immunohistochemistry and positron emission tomography-computed tomography. We also provide a review of the literature, summarizing and discussing the limited knowledge on PGM pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. |
