Lateral unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (LUKA) is an uncommon procedure, that when indicated appropriately, shows promising results for patients with isolated lateral compartment osteoarthritis. Recent literature has shown good long-term outcomes for LUKA. Continued pursuit of improved techniques and implant designs will continue to show LUKA to be an excellent procedure for appropriately indicated patients. This paper reviews patient selection, surgical techniques, and outcomes for LUKA. |
