Core Tip |
The human milk is the primordial feeding source for newborns. Frequently, hospitalized newborns demand nutritional support from a Human Milk Bank. Enterococcus spp. can contaminate milked human milk, since they compose the microbiota of healthy donnors. Once this microbial genus isimportant in human diseases, mainly among newborns, this study aimed to identify and characterize the virulence and resistance of Enteroccocus spp. isolated from samples of the nipple-areolar region, hands, and raw and pasteurized milk aliquots from donnors of a Brazillian Human Milk Bank. |
