Core Tip |
The case of intracardiac and pulmonary cement embolism event after cement-augmented pedicle screw instrumentation is extremely rare complication in orthopedics surgery. In our case, the patient develop no symptoms except for decrease in oxygen saturation. The case presents an evidence for treating cement embolism cases without severe life-threatening complications, which include close monitoring, oxygen inhalation, anti-infection, and anti-coagulation. This case can improve our understanding of bone cement embolism, and optimize the duration and type of anticoagulant drugs when the complication occurs. |
