Core Tip |
Affecting 12% of diabetics, diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) is an under-recognized and lethal complication of diabetes. This urges the need for reliable and available biomarker for DCM detection. So far none of the conducted studies have been successful on this topic. Hence, in concordance with current guidelines that accentuate the importance of interdisciplinary team-based approach, we proposed a combination of speckle tracking echocardiography and few novel biomarkers as a screening method for DCM in patients with newly onset Diabetes mellitus type 2. |
