Core Tip |
This work estimated the seroprevalence and characteristics of Toxoplasma gondii (TG) infection in 178 children admitted consecutively to the Pediatric Neurology Department because of recurrent headaches. Nineteen children had significantly increased serum anti-TG IgG antibody levels and high avidity index which indicated chronic infection. It is suggested to treat these patients specifically for 5-7 d and eventually be aware of the Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction.
