Core Tip |
A number of studies demonstrated that gut microbiota dysbiosis could represent a key factor in colorectal carcinogenesis. The APCMin/+ mouse model has been extensively used to study the underlying mechanisms of colorectal carcinogenesis in familial adenomatous polyposis. Interventions aimed at improving dysbiosis, through administration of probiotics, prebiotics or antibiotics, could decrease colorectal cancer development in APC mutation carriers. |
