Core Tip |
Limitations related to oncotherapy and poor survival of patients with advanced forms of the most common malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, including colorectal, gastric, and esophageal cancers (ECs), have led researchers to investigate new molecular target-driven therapeutic approaches. B7 homologue 3 (B7-H3) was shown to be significantly overexpressed among various malignancies and associated with their progression, metastasis and resistance to anticancer therapy. In this review, we analyze the results of different studies related to B7-H3 in colorectal, gastric, and ECs and suggest that this molecule could be a promising prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target in these tumors. |
