Core Tip |
Many strains of Lactobacillus have been used as probiotics in the clinical setting. However, recent molecular analyses of the gastric microbiome demonstrate a close association between an increased abundance of Lactobacillus and gastric cancer. In this review, we review the current understanding of heterogenic effects of Lactobacillus on the health of human stomach and discuss potential roles of the overgrowth of Lactobacillus in the gastric carcinogenesis. |
