Core Tip |
Acute pancreatitis is an uncommon complication of gastrointestinal endoscopy, especially when the patient has none of the common risk factors associated with pancreatitis; such as alcoholism, gallstones, hypertriglyceridemia, hypercalcemia or the use of certain drugs. We report an unusual case of acute pancreatitis related to gastrointestinal endoscopy. It is important to recognize this complication in order that appropriate treatment can be undertaken quickly for an optimal outcome. |
