Core Tip The present study aimed to investigate the role of Anoctamin 5 (ANO5) in the regulation of tumor progression and the clinicopathological significance of its expression in gastric cancer (GC). Immunohistochemical staining revealed that high ANO5 expression levels were associated with a poor prognosis in patients with GC. Microarray analysis results suggest that ANO5 regulates cell cycle progression by regulating the expression of cyclin-associated genes. Our results provide insights into the role of ANO5 as a mediator of and/or biomarker for GC.
