Core Tip |
This review focuses on the the pathways regulating the activity of the MAPK interacting protein kinases (Mnk kinases), the effectors of the Mnk kinases and the biological functions of the Mnk kinases. The Mnk pathway is under extensive study due to its regulation of the mRNA cap binding protein eIF4E and its role in mRNA translation in various malignancies. As discussed in the review, development of Mnk inhibitors will have important broad spectrum clinical implications. |
