Core Tip |
A 60-year-old woman who had previously undergone radical gastrectomy (Billroth II) for gastric antral cancer was found to have a primary tumor on the neck of the pancreas. Pathological examination showed that the lesion was pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Open approach radiofrequency ablation (RFA) was selected to treat the primary tumor. A local recurrent tumor was discovered in the follow-up contrast-enhanced computed tomography after 8 mo with the performance of another open RFA. The patient still enjoys her 9-year survival following the first RFA. It is promising that some cases still have long-term survival based on repeated open RFA. |
