Although much remains to be clarified concerning causes, pathogenesis and systemic role of pseudoexfoliation aggregations, there is accumulating epidemiologic, clinical and laboratory evidence that this well-described clinical entity may occur as part of a systemic disorder with cardiovascular implications. The present review aims to summarize current knowledge on cardiovascular complications which have been associated with these suspicious whitish-gray deposits.
