Core Tip |
Cuff tear arthropathy is a challenging condition to manage. Hemiarthroplasty and total shoulder replacement have been tried but reported to have poor outcome. Reverse polarity shoulder has evolved since last two decades and its outcome is promising in this pathology. It is a complex procedure associated with significant risks. It is important to understand the bio-mechanics, principles of surgery, extended indications, pitfalls associated with it and the available literature. This review summarises the concept of this procedure. We also review the most recent available biomechanical and clinical evidence to aid clinicians’ practice. |
