| Core Tip |
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) and their derivatives have been studied as a therapeutic alternative for stroke, and various preclinical have been reported. A 45-year-old female suffered an acute stroke, causing paralysis in the left upper and lower limbs. We transplanted the amniotic membrane MSCs-derived secretome (MSC-secretome) to the patient four times with a week interval. The clinical improvement of this patient was accompanied by an increased frequency of Tregs after transplantation. This study proves that intravenous transplantation of MSC-secretome potentially treats patients who suffer from acute ischemic stroke. |
