Core Tip |
Few studies have simultaneously compared the predictive value of various frailty assessment tools for the prognosis in patients undergoing gastrointestinal cancer surgery. Therefore, we investigated the predictive power of the comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA), Fried phenotype and FRAIL scale for the prognosis of patients undergoing surgery for gastrointestinal cancer. There was a high prevalence of preoperative frailty. Scores on the CGA were positively related to patients’ increased hospital costs. |
