Core Tip |
We report a rare case of liver abscess caused by Klebsiella variicola (K. variicola) complicated by intracranial infection and septic shock. Invasive liver abscess syndrome was mainly caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae in previous reports. The patient successfully recovered following early percutaneous drainage of the abscess, prompt appropriate antibiotic administration, and timely open surgical drainage. Regarding the information in the case, we consider that more attention should be given to K. variicola in clinical practice. |
