Core Tip |
Frostbite is becoming more common in urban environments, and severe frostbite can lead to tissue loss. The goal of frostbite treatment is to preserve tissue and function. Administering appropriate treatment early on increases the chances of saving more tissue. This study presents a case of deep frostbite in multiple fingers of a 73-year-old man who experienced trauma and was missing for 2 d. As the patient presented after the optimal time for frostbite treatment, we developed a comprehensive plan for delayed treatment. The treatment outcomes suggest that mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream has clinical value in frostbite treatment. We believe that our study makes a significant contribution to the literature because this case offers valuable insights into managing deep frostbite in situations where thrombolysis is contraindicated or when optimal treatment timing is missed. |
