Core Tip |
Autophagy has a dual role in tumorigenesis: inhibiting tumorigenesis under normal conditions and promoting tumor growth once formed. In colon cancer patients with liver metastasis, high cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (CDK9) expression correlated with elevated autophagy levels. Autophagy incidence and expression of BECN1 and ABCG2 differed between left and right colon cancer, potentially contributing to chemotherapy resistance. High CDK9 expression was associated with poor prognosis in colorectal cancer. This study provided a foundation for investigating CDK9 and autophagy inhibitors in combination therapy to enhance tumor cell sensitivity to chemotherapy. |
