The effect of body mass index (BMI) on adverse kidney events in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) remains unclear. Our meta-analysis showed that patients with DM with higher BMIs had higher blood pressures and serum albumin levels, as well as worse lipid profiles. High BMI was found to be a risk factor contributing to adverse kidney events in patients with DM. |
