| Core Tip |
This report describes a unique case of an adolescent woman with familial ovarian teratoma that was initially diagnosed as mature ovarian teratoma and later recurred and identified as immature ovarian teratoma during follow-up. Our case highlights the importance of genetic counseling, screening, and close surveillance in families with a predisposition to ovarian teratomas. Collaborative efforts between oncologists, geneticists, and researchers are necessary to determine the underlying mechanisms and develop targeted interventions for individuals at high risk of immature teratomas. |
