Core Tip |
Hepatoma-derived growth factor (HDGF) is a unique nuclear growth factor, playing an important role in the development and progression of carcinomas. Prognostic importance of HDGF expression has been reported in several cancers. In the present study, HDGF expression in cervical cancer was examined by immunohistochemistry, showing increased HDGF expression as a marker of deep invasion, lymphatic invasion, and lymph node metastasis. In addition, HDGF expression was an independent prognostic factor for overall survival.
