Pulmonary diseases across all ages threaten millions of people and have emerged as one of the major public health issues worldwide. Human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) are superior for standardization and large-scale production for disease treatment. Herein, we provide a detailed summary of clinical trials and results related to the use of UC-MSCs in the treatment of lung diseases and explore in depth the challenges and opportunities faced in the clinical application of these cells. |
