Core Tip |
Hypoxia inducible factor (HIF) is a key factor to regulate and promote the progression of tumor. In this process, angiogenesis and vasculogenic mimicry may play a important role to help tumors acquire more blood supply. In this paper, we discussed the role of HIF-1α (The α subunit of HIF-1) in the formation of vasculogenic mimicry in Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC). Our study showed that HIF-1α may up-regulate the expression of VE-cadherin to accommodate the ability of forming vasculogenic mimicry in ESCC and which may relate to the change of EphA2 and LN5γ2 protien expression. These results may also have implications in the treatment of malignant tumor disease. |
