Core Tip Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is a common and highly effective elective procedure in orthopedic surgery. Postoperative dislocation is a disabling and challenging complication that affects patient outcome, and remains one of the leading causes of early revision surgery. This review provides a detailed analysis of the multifactorial causes of dislocation following primary THA. The surgical options that may prevent or minimize this risk are presented and discussed as well.
