Core Tip |
Spindle cell carcinoma (SCC) is rare, accounting for about 0.1%-1.5% of esophageal cancers. Tumor cells show sarcomatoid differentiation with spindle cells and are accompanied by components of conventional carcinoma including squamous cell carcinoma in some cases. Many of cardiac metastatic tumors are asymptomatic and are typically discovered through pathological autopsy, with metastatic cardiac tumors being identified in 2% to 18% of cancer patients undergoing autopsy. There has been no report of cardiac metastasis in esophageal SCC. |
