| Core Tip |
This study presents the clinical utility of 3 Screen Islet Cell Autoantibody enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (3 Screen ICA ELISA) in identifying anti-islet autoantibody-positive individuals among patients with autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD). Our findings demonstrate that 5.1% of AITD patients test positive for 3 Screen ICA with titers comparable to those of patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D) despite not having diabetes themselves. These results have the potential to enhance the staging and early diagnosis of T1D in AITD patients in clinical practice. |
