| Core Tip |
Metadherin (MTDH) is a protein and a predictor of poor prognosis, of aggressive tumor phenotypes prone to metastasis, recurrence, and therapy resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Several studies have demonstrated a correlation between MTDH and cancer stem cells, which has elevated interest in further investigating this oncogene and its impacts to a higher level. The editorial highlights the ongoing research in the HCC field, revealing the significance for future studies. |
